Solaris Express Developer Edition for Parallels

I was digging around Sun's Download site looking for some goodies (SunMC) when I came across an exciting gem that I was unaware of: Solaris Express, Developer Edition Appliance for the Parallels Virtual Machine 1.0! If you've wanted Solaris in Parallel's for Windows or OSX and had problems, struggle no longer! The work is done for you, just download (made easy with Sun's Download Manager and Java Webstart, just check all the parts for OSX and choose "Download with Sun Download Manager", no need to pre-install SDM), and boot the image! w00t!

It would be much better to have VMWare on Solaris, than Solaris in VMWare under Linux or Windows. When?:)

Sun also has a Solaris 10 virtual appliance for VMware at [[http://javashoplm.sun.com/ECom/docs/We..]] .

The appliance works very well with the VMware Fusion beta ([[http://www.vmware.com/products/beta/fu..]]) on intel based Macs.

i installed Solaris 10 (not express developer) under CentOS 5 using hardware virtualization via xen / virt-manager / virt-install. It was very easy to install and I have many images running simultaneously on SunFire x2200 and x4100 platforms ironically. i want to try virtualiron as well. vmware and parallels are slow since they use syscall emulation (well besides vmkernel).

Any idea what the username and password are? I had to reset the VM rather thn run from suspended as my machine doesn’t have 1024MB to spare.
