Geek Love
09 June '05 - 15:27 by benrThe NY Daily News reports what we already knew: Geeks are the best lovers. Oh ya, no secret there. The number of married geeks is higher than most folks give us credit. Not only that but, at least amoung F/OSS geeks, as we're getting older we're more and more becoming fathers. We've got all the goods that women want: we adore them, we're honest, we're too busy to fool around or be social, our friends (if we have them) are harmless, we rarely leave the house except for user groups and outages (and ales afterwards), we're good providers, we're successful, we're down to earth (generally), and generally happy folks.
Of course, there are some downsides. Generally being non-adventurous is a common complaint. Answering questions like "We should go out!" with a blank "Why?" reply doesn't always go over well. Plus the busy and successful thing can be an issue to some degree. I IM'ed my wife about the story and the conversation went like thus:

Forgetting to take out the trash, staying up till 4am each night, leaving the house a mess all too often, and sleeping in way way way too late aren't uncommon problems. But, hey, those are all really minor compared to most folks I suppose.
Still... geek love reigns supreme. And some girls even have the shirt to prove it.
My wife has one that says “Talk nerdy to me.”
She rules.

Some time ago, me and my gang spent some time fooling around why Geeks were the next evolutionary step in mankind.Women (acording to Darwin) are seeking the best genes to pass to their children. A tall, muscular guy is usefull if they want their children to be stone workers. If they want the kids to be smart and get an higly payed job, geeks are the way to go.
That’s it, boys, we are the sex simbols of tomorrow :)
