Sun Cloud DOA?
10 Sep '09 - 16:27 by benrIs it just me or is Sun Cloud giving you Solaris/Linux/X86 flashbacks? At JavaOne they sounded entirely committed... but they've missed the deployment projections and the whole subject is very suspiciously quiet. As a Joyent employee I was frankly looking forward to the competition, because I think we could offer a better cloud using Sun resources than Sun can... but perhaps its not to be. I get the distinct feeling that it was all an effort to expand Sun's potential customer base and when Oracle came they didn't see any value in it.
Behold, the Sun Cloud:
If you've got any insight that you can publicly share, please do so.
It’s probably like every other Sun product. They stopped talking ever since the rumors of being bought started. I doubt we’ll know what’s really going on until the dust clears.

This whole “could thing” is way overblown. Marketing buzzwords and garbage, is all there is to it.We don’t have the computer paradigm necessary to turn computing into “water on tap” or the “electricity in the outlet”.
And the worst of it all: lose CONTROL over MY infrastructure by going to “the cloud”?
Over my dead body.

Interesting post. Also an interesting coincidence is that I received a message from Sun last night referencing one of their white papers on Cloud and Open Source computing.Gene Beaird

Ugg boots (sometimes referred to as uggs or ug boots) are a style of sheepskin boot, with wool as the inner lining and a tanned outer surface worn by both men and women. Ugg boots often have a synthetic sole, although this is not universal. Uggs have been identified as a fashion trend for men and women since the early 2000s. In late 2008, Ugg boots grew again in popularity with men as male celebrities were seen in them.[[http://www.llikeonline.com]]
