This Thursday night, Aug 16th at 7:30PM in Joyent’s HQ (9th Floor, Embarcadero One) Joyent will be hosting BayLISA for an evening of SmartOS. I’ll be filling in for Ryan Nelson, talking for 20 mins about the practical issues of SmartOS deployment. This is an excellent opportunity for any Solaris or SmartOS fans in the Bay Area to come an meet some amazing engineers and learn more about the future of the platform.
Register here. (If I know Joyent, beer will be provided!) Come over and say hello!
UPDATE: You can view the whole event on Ustream! My talk starts at 40m in. You can also download the slides.
Looks like all of the slots are already filled. Bummed I can’t make it as I’m sure it will be a good talk.
Ignore the slots; just come.
Will the notes, slides, or video be archived?
I really enjoyed your BayLISA talk on SmartOS. You mentioned you use zabbix to monitor your SmartOS nodes via SMF service in /opt/custom/smf Could you possibly share the SMF Zabbix stuff you are using as we are also using zabbix and would like to monitor our SmartOS nodes in a similar fashion.
Thanks
Mark
Enjoyed your talk and the video as a whole.
Please write something about PXE booting SmartOS.
Good notes on PXE’ing SmartOS can be found here:
