Hope

They don’t mention X86… but they are sending the message they are serious about Solaris and the enterprise customer. There is hope. As I’ve said before, while I doubt I’ll be happy about every decision Oracle makes regarding Solaris, it probly means good things for the platforms future by putting it (back) on a firm enterprise trajectory.

It wouldn’t take much for Oracle to push Solaris and SPARC harder than Sun is now. That said, I am happy to see Oracle publicly announce this, particularly with Ellison’s name on it. Let’s hope they run with it.

SUN has a lot of power, now it’s in Oracle’s hands, let’s hope Oracle understands all that power it has in control now and uses it wisely. SUN is legend, who else made it possible to squeeze 48 standard 3,5 ” drives in 4U space ? Best I’ve seen was HP system with 12 drives in 2U, but that’s still miles away from brilliant SUN’s design with “thumper”! And OpenSolaris/ZFS/Comstar on top of that baby – now that’s 21st century technology..

Ugg boots (sometimes referred to as uggs or ug boots) are a style of sheepskin boot, with wool as the inner lining and a tanned outer surface worn by both men and women. Ugg boots often have a synthetic sole, although this is not universal. Uggs have been identified as a fashion trend for men and women since the early 2000s. In late 2008, Ugg boots grew again in popularity with men as male celebrities were seen in them.
